Shafaat attended Lahore Grammar School and is a graduate of Kinnaird College, Lahore.
She had no initial intentions of becoming a model or joining the entertainment business. Her discovery was accidental. A fashion photographer saw her at a party and made her a modeling offer, she initially refused. After taking permission from home, she started modeling.
Her biggest break was the music video for Faakhir's song "Dilruba." Shafaat feels that it's the best part of her short career.
